Guy Martin's Battle of Britain

Guy Martin's Battle of Britain | Channel 4  2 x 60'

Could Guy Martin have been a fighter pilot in the Battle of Britain? In this ambitious specialist factual series for Channel 4, Guy experienced exactly the same training in exactly the same aircraft as the RAF recruits of 80 years ago. Under the tutelage of vintage aviation specialist Anna Walker, Guy learnt to fly in a Tiger Moth, practiced combat manoeuvres in a Harvard T6 and practiced dogfighting by chasing a former Red Arrow. The spectacular World War 2-style Top Gun finale saw Guy at the controls of the only two-seater Hawker Hurricane in the world, pitched in aerial combat against a Messerschmitt 109 - the first time the skies above Kent had seen such action since the historic battles of 1940.
