A late addition to the strand was this festive one-off – marking, incredibly, thirty years since the release of John Hughes’s monster hit movie, about a young boy accidentally left behind by his family when they depart in hurried confusion for a festive flight from Chicago to Paris. Few at the time could foresee the massive cultural phenomenon which this hilarious, if sometimes actually quite moving, comedy would become – spawning numerous sequels and making an international child-star out of Macaulay Culkin.
