Produced by North One for U&Dave and free streaming service U, the show sees Guy swap the race track for some of Britain’s toughest and most overlooked roles. This time, he’ll be going underground as a miner in Britain’s deepest working mine in North Yorkshire, rescuing stranded trucks on busy motorways, joining lifeboat crews on the Humber, and trying his hand at dairy farming in the Hebrides.
The four-part series will air in 2026, following the huge success of series one, nominated for Best Popular Factual Programme at the 2025 Broadcast Digital Awards and attracting an average audience of 716,000 after 28 days. It was the most-watched U&Dave series on streaming service U during its launch month.

Commissioned for UKTV by Helen Nightingale, Head of Factual & Factual Entertainment, and ordered for U&Dave by Adam Collings, Director of Programming, and Hilary Rosen, Director of Commissioning, the new series is executive produced by Emile Nawagamuwa for UKTV and Steve Gowans for North One. Ewan Keil returns as series producer, James Woodroffe directs, and Guy Garvey will once again provide the voiceover.
Guy Martin said:
“Learning a new trade, especially one I know nothing about, is right up my street. The best way to understand this stuff is to chuck me in there with the people who’ve got years of experience and let me be a sponge – so yeah, I can’t wait to get stuck in.”
Steve Gowans, Executive Producer for North One, added:
“Working with U&Dave was a natural fit for Guy, and we’re all properly delighted to be putting in another shift on more of the UK’s toughest – and most surprising – jobs.”
